    Sick car :(

Had my first major problem with my car today (been 3 years). Basically whilst driving on a dual carriage way, I started to loose power. Managed to pullover into a lay-by and the car just died. Tried starting it and it would idle for about 2 seconds then just die. Lucky for me I have AA cover so managed to get her home. I have the shareware version of vag-com so used that to diagnose any faults. One fault did come up which was:

    Chassis Type: 8L - Audi A3/S3
    Scan: 01,02,03,08,15,17,22,35,37,45,54,55,56

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Address 01: Engine
    Controller: 06A 906 018 AQ
    Component: 1.8L R4/5VT MOTR HS D03
    Coding: 04000
    Shop #: WSC 06313
    1 Fault Found:
00544 - Maximum Boost Pressure Exceeded
    35-10 - - - Intermittent
    Readiness: N/A

Has anybody got any ideas? I might be talking crap but would this have anything to do with the N75 valve as this controls boost?

    Car details: 1998 Audi A3 1.8T AGU

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks - Wayne

N75 will not cause the car not to run. I would probably look at a pipe off as the turbo can be asked to work harder( By the ECU) to try and make boost to compensate for the split pipe, boost failure

Agreed, split boost pipe.... Certainly gives you an unhappy car.
