Maybe you should contact the Vendor and ask for clarification.

GOlf exhausts fit...but you need to trim the bumper and a bit of sheet metal behind it.. No big deal really.

Yup, Golf exhausts fit. Here are some pics of where you have to trim

The plastic on the rear lower bumper has to be trimmed to. Very easy to do.

I wonder if it's in the right position for a rear S3 bumber? Looks very close, IIRC, when I fitted my S3 rear bumper to my A3, the exhaust tailpipes had to be moved over about 4" to the right, if it does fit in exactly the same position, then it'll give me more options on rear exhausts available 'off the shelf' as the only option I currently have are custom made backbox [runs off to check exhaust alignment]...

    [Back again!]
Yup, my exhaust tailpipes line up about an inch away from the spare wheel well and the pic above looks to be very similar... even the height of the tailpipes look as though they will be just perfect. Big thanks to HTC for the images posted!

I only fitted an S3 bumper but used the exhisting A3 exhaust, had new tailpipe trims welded on after they extended the pipework to shift over 4" to the right as per S3.

I stuck an S3 rear box on the A3 TQS and it fitted into the S3 bumper cut out perfectly. The A3 box tail pipes lined up fine, but were down turned.

Not sure if the 2wd Golf exhausts are the same fitment, but no reason to assume not

edit, i had to cut the same section out as the pics, so i recon its a go er !!!
