    just a quickie lads found oil in intercooler n pipes tday does that mean turbo broke

    hi lads as title says found **** loads of oil in intercooler n pipes today does tht mean turbos broke

    strange you shuld mention it i have replaced the intercooler in mine and had the same problem !!! does anyone know how much work involves changing the seals on the turbo??

    as said above, quite a lot can get carried into the TIP and turbo boost pipes from the PCV system....

    before condemming the poor little turbo, remember the oil breather system from rocker cover and crankcase, vents into the turbos intake pipe, which in turns blows the oily fume throughout the intake charge pipe system

    check the TIP... bet its oily

    turbo inlet pipe, the pipe that goes from maf, to the turbo.

    Definately would also hold up condeming the turbo.

    what procedure would u try then lads basically ive had the intercooler off and pipes visually checked and replaced a few perished pipes in the pcv system done a oil n filter change etc all the basic stuff just stook after tht as im 80% sure the turbo seals have gone

    Half a litre? Bloody hell, thats a lot!

    As said, check the TIP for oil.

    the charge pipe on top was oily also the pipe from turbo to intercooler was

    if its just oily on the surface nothing to worry about, all cars do that. if its proper thick or your finding drips/ puddles of it you have a problem
