Service light reset

Hi.. No doubt this has been said somewhere before, cant find it. But how do you get rid of the "Service" when you start the car? Do all the servicing myself, I have bought this code thing of ebay and it doesnt work... used the manual, it doesnt work????

Any ideas most gratful!

or

*Switch off ignition.
*Press right hand button on dash and hold while switching on ignition.
*The display should now read SERVICE!
*Immediately press and hold the left hand dash button until SERVICE! is cleared from the display (some cars you need to twist to the left instead).
 
Hi, thanks for replying. When you say 'right hand button' what do you mean?
 
The buttons used to reset your milage counter, and adjust the clock.
 
when facing the dashboard, button on your left or right (the twisty time set next to the speedo and rev counter)

what ebay code did you buy?
 
oh righ,t sorry. I will try that in the morning. If it works I'll owe you a beer!!
 
Cant remember, will have to dig it out. I do recall when i first bought it 2 years ago i wanted it serviced as part of the dael and the garage were having trouble resetting it.

Will let you know if it works!
