Clear 2 errors & see if come back would be my 1st advice, seems your boost is OTT, but in order to see certain areas with vagcom, you need the full monty as in either a licence at a cost for the older 409 software or the hex-can-usb that I sell genuine that works on many cars old & new.

yeah already tried that they were still there
can you please PM details and cost please

thanks

bal

anyone got any other ideas, i have checked all pipe work for damage, but all good

anyone know what the other code actually mean?

It means your car is overboosting most likely which isnt good at all as can feck your turbo & as it advises it is showing a malfunction with the boost pressure control valve N249, so I would replace this asap & drive like an old man until fixed.

does anyone know the part number engine is a amk

Its the valve right on top of the rocker covers, has a few pipes looping round it part number will be written on it. But if charge pressure is being exceeded, the N249 wouldnt cause that, more than likely N75, check small pipe from n75 down to turbo isnt split

true, but you would assume it would fail safe

If it is a 'Mechanical Malfunction' as the fault codes states - how would it?

If it is jammed closed - and it's mechanically broken ( i.e can't open), how would it allow air through to the diverter valve?

IIRC the DV is vacuum operated by the natural vacuum of the inlet system regardless, the N249 is a supplementary system that uses the vacuum stored in the black contianer to allow the ECU to operate the DV by using the N249 to divert vacuum from this store to the DV.... Doing it this way means the ECU can dump boost while under boost rather than just when it sees a vacuum.

Have a look on the Ross Tech wiki for descriptions of your fault codes... I have found the relevant links and copied them under each fault with its heading...

wooo you guys are awsome, talk about helpfull!!

well that leaves me to check a few things thanks!!:salute:

only have the following left:
17608/P1200/004608 - Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249): Mechanical Malfunction

whats the part number for this how much does it cost?

I was getting this error only for ages, but didn't notice any problem whilst driving :
17963 - Charge Pressure: Maximum Limit Exceeded
P1555 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
and sometimes P1555 - 35-00

But in the last week I've noticed my turbo is now not working/kicking in and I am still showing the exact same error as above that I have been getting for months. How did you fix this particular error ? All the pipework around the N75 seem good and nothing blowing so am I right in thinking it needs replacing ?

not sure really i just check al pipes and cleared the codes and the others have not come up so far

removed the N75 , sprayed plenty of WD40 in all the 3 little pipes, wiped and refitted. Drove around and pushed it quite a bit and know no errors. I still don't feel the turbo kicking in, but the car certainly feels just the same i.e fast and picks up speed around the 3K mark and upwards, but I'm sure I use to hear the dump valve and feel the sudden surge, but now it just seems still fast, but progressivelly so. So not sure if I have a problem ???
Everytime I tried to do some logging today there were Police so will have to leave it for another day.
I guess it's best to log will be 115, 003 & 032 OR shall I replace one of them for log 118 ? Still wondering whether the N75 is not working properly even though there is no errors.

still getting

17608/P1200/004608 - Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249): Mechanical Malfunction

ok found some rips in pipes have replaced them

have also replaced DV valve

anyone ?

the N249 needs replacing ? Or was that too obvious :) By replacing the DV you have pretty much isolated it down to that unit.

;-)

how much is this
i have an amk engine
can somone please give me the part number

Have you checked to make sure the plug is connected on to the valve and the contacts aren't corroded/dirty? Would hate to have to fork out on a new valve when all it was was a dodgy contact!

Am at work so will get it later as done the N249 bypass and need to relocate the valve tonight.
