Boost gauge wiring

evening all,

Trying to hook up my new boost gauge, anyone know what the 12v+ and ground wires are on the back of the dimmer switch? after reading up i was under the impression 12v+ is blue/grey and ground is brown but just tried this and the gauge doesn't light up?

There are four wires in total in two pairs:

Blue/grey
brown

Green/grey
brown/white

any help would be much appreciated!

just run it off the fag lighter. it will still dim. thats what i done. :icon_thumright:

If you are doing ANY electrical wiring on a car, buy a test light. They aren't expensive (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CIRCUIT-TESTE...s_Equipment&hash=item335a860802#ht_1360wt_939) and this way you can punch through the wire's sheath and see for yourself if there is a 12 volt feed.

Also, the back of the headlight switch is my preference 12 volt source for a boost gauge.

Second this, that's where I got my feed from, and it works with the dimmer too.

cheers guys, just for the record i used the blue/grey for 12v+ and solid brown for earth at the back of the dimmer switch, just hadn't used the splices correctly first time round, all up and running now!
