just booked my s3 into a 80k service at voltkwerks in middlesbrough (vw and audi specialist)

im getting the longlife service with spark plugs changed all filters fluids etc
getting haldex oil and filter changed
cambelt with waterpump
pollen filter

they originally quoted 770 pounds did abit of hagelling and lying about other quotes elsewhere and got it down to 660.... think thats a decent price for the work done. he said its going to be in for 1.5 days. still an absolute stinger to the bank. rather be safe and kick my self in the nuts when my cambelt goes haha!! :icon_thumright:

I'd suggest a regular haldex service to anyone....my GF's TT has been meglected it seems by the previous owner and now its in need of being replaced. Time to PX the car in quick before it goes bang!!

My 80k service was a tad under £500 from nottingham audi, luckily the previous owner paid just before i bought it. Personally if i was you i'd take it off the longlife servicing and change it every 8k minimum, IMO the longlife servicing cant be good for any car let alone one with a turbo bolted to it.

I just had a service and the same as you have but I paid £500 from a VW Audi specialist.

Major service - oil/filter + air/pollen filter+ spark plugs + fuel filter - usually £199-£250(Audi)
Haldex service from independent - £80 - £90
Cambelt from Independent£250 Audi -£300

Getting a major service + cambelt, they should throw in a haldex service in for just the price of the oil and filter £35

Longlife service is gay, do it 8-10k

hmmm better you can get it all for £500

Just come back from a service at Fontain, was £1200 but a few components had failed, car feels brilliant unlike my bank account :( a true reminder that these are not cheap cars to run

What, may I ask, did you spend £1200 on? So we get an idea of what work was carried out, and to see if got a good deal or not?

Ok full service with the following on the receipt
oil filter, sump bolt, castrol six 3, screenwash, air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, forte gas treatment, engine flush and cleaner, spray maintenance, thermostat, washer, coolant, H/D oil, haldex oil filter, seal, strut mounts, bearing, n/s/f lower suspension arm. It was the suspension work that really bumped up the bill.

My last service was about £450 for oil, filter, cambelt, mot and 4 tyres fitting. I supplied parts too.

This service will be oil, filter, haldex oil/filter, sparkplugs and mot. Interesting to see how much it is at same place and again Ill supply parts.

Also forgot 4 wheel alignment at £59.57, £585 in labour and £409.67 parts.
Also got a courtesy car and a full valet.

I know the feeling my last service should have been a simple oil change service (less than £150), but the bill ended up being closer to £900!!! That was at a specialist and not Audi!!

Fu**king hell mate, I think you've paid over the odds there. What the hell is spray maintenance and forte gas treatment?

Probably where they spend an hour cleaning your washer jets for the optimum spray cover ! Its too clean out your engine the forte gas is lol, they sends in a fairy to have a look around, how else would they know if its dirty! The stuff only costs a tenner.

Forte gas treatment is some additive they put in the tank to clean the injectors etc apparently. In all honesty there was a lot of work to be done, the main service wasn't expensive, it was just the added thermostat change, both top mounts doing and the lower suspension arm with new bearings and the wheel alignment that raised the price due to the time it takes to do the job I guess. But was more than happy with there service. Did nice little extras such as putting a battery cover on which it didnt have before.

I know it's off topic but does anyone have details of the haldex oil change and what it involves to do it?

I don't mind paying for parts and servicing at least you get something unlike road tax!

I get the distinct impression that most garages charge more simply because you have an Audi. They know people will pay. Mine has 90k but I am about to do a major service including the Cambelt, water pump and tensioners (already done at 60k but you never know) I will also be doing the Haldex and the front arb bushes, pads all round and spraying the front and rear bumpers. I will cost all the parts prices and total the time it takes me in labour and I bet the cost is nowhere near an Audi standard 80k service.

I dont know why people pay to have their air and pollen filters changed, I normally have Bedford Audi do the oil and oil filter change now they have there fixed price schedule (£99 interim service), they normally give it a free health check and a wash, and I get an Audi stamp in the service book, then I buy the air filter and pollen filter and change them myself whcih takes all of 10 mins.
