Last weekend, whilst bleeding my rear brakes, I noticed that my rear springs (jamex coilovers) are very compressed under load. Basically I saw that lots of the coils of the spring were fully compressed. Is this normal? as I thought it did look a bit excessive.

Cheers

Liam

Do you mean like this?...

Coils in a spring are often not equal all the way up, its how to get a spring to be progressive so if its like mine its fine mate. They'll compress a lot at first and then get firmer as you go through the travel of the suspension :). Coils wound tighter will be firmer if that makes sense?

bit more compressed than yours mate, yours looks normal! :D
I'll get a pic up

heres a couple of pictures of my rear springs...

what do people think?

How much weight is a full load? looks like there still is a long way to go, looking at the rings it looks like they are sitting like that all the time, as a rust ring is developing where they are touching?

not sure about the weight, just seems a little too compressed

i didnt think they would affect it that bad! :D lol

Nothing sounds bad, just didnt look right when i was under the car
