    Engine start?

Can you get the A3 to start the engine via the key fob? Im aware that you can do it on the bmw's with some re-programming. Was just wondering about the A3, would surely help when warming up the turbo.

Can be done with aftermarket alarms but haven't seen it done with the standard remote key fob.

    Hmmm,
Could be quite handy, car would be nice and warm when I go out on those cold winter mornings.

I wondered about it a while back but the I thought immobiliser transponder would be a stumbing block.

I have Intellistart. What they do is remove the transponder fron the keyfob and place inside the car so the car assumes key is there. Security wise- I have more faith in the Clifford immob then the Audi so not worried.

    Re: Engine start?

Just to remind you guys, its bad for the engine to warm up by idling.

You'll prematurly wear the bores with the extra fuel that gets chucked in during warmup.

If you have to have this sort of thing, then go for a water jacket pre-heater.
