amber light with a little car and key in it...

had this flashing in my rev counter clocks and car would not start. obviously its the immobiliser kicking in. is this because the battery in the key fob is dieing? its done it a few times recently now.

When the battery in my key was on its way out the only thing i noticed was that the remote central locking wouldnt work not sure about the immobiliser guess the cheapest thing you could do is change the battery in the key.

The battery has nothing to do with the immo system, its a passive system.

Try pushing the steering wheel closer to the dash next time

tryed all that, took about 3 mins for the car to start. i normally just lock then unlock it again and it ok.

Not good as im driving miles tomorrow to get wheels and repairs.

there anyway i can loose the immo completely?

Lock and unlock has no effect either as the immo sysytem is in no way connected to the CL system, purely coincedence.

Ask who ever does your remap to disable the immo for you, it's usually free, or a case of removing the 24c02 chip and progging it with an immo defeat and soldering it back on

There is a sensor in the ignition barrel, which reads the chip in your key. When that starts to go you tend to get this issue. A mate with a TT had the same symptoms and it was sorted by replacing said sensor. Does not look like a quick fix mate
