banging noise from back end, help any1?

recently bought my first audi and theres a bang from the back left sometimes going over pot holes or speed bumps, its a 1.9 tdi sport 110, t reg with 114k on the clock, maybe the shocks ?

had the same on mine - certain it'll be the rear axel bushes that have detoriorated which causes the knocking you hear over bumps. bought new ones on ebay for 6 quid each. local garge relaced them for £75- audi quoted £240 for bushes and labour!! my audi now feels like a new car

just had a look through the books i got with the car becuase it says the rear axle bushes have been done 6000 miles ago, but the receipts only show A/R bush, maybe the back right has been done and not left. il get them sorted at that price cheers

Either that or you've forgotten to take that hostage out of your boot...
