brake failure!!!

I know this may be a stupid question, but would my 97 1.8t have abs????? lost my brake peddle last week, and car has been in garage since, and the guy there insists that it does have abs, and that i need a replacment pump!!! but i am not so sure, i thought it had a survo???? any help so i can clear this issue up. cheers.

well, i mean when i went to brake, my peddle went almost straight to the floor, and i only had a little braking right at the bottom.
