Audi a3 Stereo syetem identification?

Hi, I'm new.

This has probably been done to death - but I need to find out what sound system is factory fitted in my A3.

Is there an easy way to identify the system? I have a 2000 model 1.8 sport (non turbo).

It should say it on the front of the headunit mate. Concert etc etc.

If it has BOSE then you'll have a sub in the rear left wheel arch (behind the trim in the boot) and the display will say "BOSE" on it when you turn it on.

All concert stereos also have a sub in the left hand side boot compartment Tom, the Bose sub is slightly different though.

It is a concert head unit - but i'm not convinced that my sub is bose as well, what's the difference between standard sub and bose?

I would say thats non-bose buddy.

If your single din casette has one knob in the middle its a concert, if it has one knob either side its a chorus.

Nope, £25 tops for non Bose, around £70 for Bose.

is there any way of keepin the concert head unit but connecting an aftermarket sub ??

This is for a stealth sub but the amp wiring is the same.
