Just sent mine off to CR for a hybrid to help the 2.1, i would got GT30 but money is tight this year unless business picks up this year
Hi guys I'm back!
I decided to send my turbo back off to turbo dynamics to get checked out because it was only flowing 217 g/s max.
So they found to problems with the unit: One is the actuator was a bit weak so they replaced that and The second is the turbine wheel does not have a cutback which the MD421 should have.
So they changed them and sent it back to me,
Now I'm just waiting to fit to see what power it can make.
Do people think these things will make a big difference?

Good work mate, pleased they sorted it for you.
Hmmm
Billet compressor on it like in the pictures of the CR one George?
actuator change will change boost delivery.. I hope it wont spike to much as your rods will be at risk (consequence of fitting stiffer actuator)
turbine wheel will relieve a bit of backpressure and aid flow potentially, but I just cant see it making another 36g/s airflow.. but who knows.. maybe it will.
deffo need checking with actuator change if its gone stiffer, and flows more, checking the fueling keeps up with increased airflow if there's a significant difference.
glad they found something.
if you have a picture of the compressor wheel that would be handy to see to compare with CR's ones
That it a billet wheel as you can see the machine marks
The exhaust wheel doesn't look as big as the CR Turbo??]
Welly how did you manage to flow 214.86 G/S with a standard turbo? that's what my stage 4 hybrid was doing lol
The cr turbo just looks the same as standard and how mine used to look before I sent it away
now it has been cut down and the nut on the end too.
Do it!!
<tuffty/>
wont the ecu just command the same boost as before? that wont know you have a hybrid yet lol...Yep i will take pics for you. I wont notice any difference as I'm only running waste gate pressure as my old stage 1 map could not with stand the extra boost so to be safe taking it to and from Bills we unplugged the N75.
im hybrid mate...330bhp on a standard turbo Dave. I have never seen no more than 293 bhp on a standard not hybrid turbo.
N8
im hybrid mate...
I will see how the CR Turbo will cope with my 2.1 but if it runs out of puff at anything before 5500 rpms then it will be sold on and then i will go BT
