Hey,

hope all are well!

I am looking to sell my Audi S3 but before i do I was hoping to solve an issue with it.

It seems to be running in limp mode I ve had it checked by Audi and the Maxium charge pressure is being exceded. Ive had the dump valve and air mass meter changed but its still down on Power.

Audi are sure its not the Turbo but its shows an error in the engine maganement.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If i cant get that sorted on my own I would still consider selling it for a lower price as I am moving to London and will have no need for the car.

See below for the pics i took in December also just had the new brakes and pads done and service.

Might be worth posting up the error code so the usual knowledge banks (Bill/Tuffty) can have a gander and offer some advice.

i dont think what I said about the turbo was clear.

Audi are sure the turbo is fine...

But there is an error being shown: for the Engine magament.

I dont have access to the fault codes now. I would have to get it back on the VAGCOM

That's what I mean chap. Find someone with VAG COM, check what errors are showing (unless you have been told the code by Audi, who should really have then given you answer and solutions . . . !) and then post them up on here.

Nice looking motor mate, sure you won't have trouble selling it as it looks in top nick... Ming blue and cream leather go well...

hey thanks.

right now im in two minds.

thinking of putting it on Ebay for 3k "as is" rather than spend the difference just to get the higher resale...

No don't do that mate just post your error code on here and someone will suggest the problem. Failing that where are you? We can suggest some good audi specialists who will be able to diagnose it for you.... Why sell it for £2000 cheaper if it costs you £500 to sort, if that!

OK - this error is caused by too much boost being produced by the turbo.

A couple of likely causes here. First and foremost, the N75 valve. This is the boost control valve. Try swapping out with a spare if you can. You should be able to get one from a breakers for testing.

There are 2 pipes which connect to this valve. One of them comes from the charge pipe to the N75 valve, and the other goes from the N75 valve to the turbo's actuator. Check both of these hoses for kinks and splits. Pressure escaping from these hoses will mean the actuator doesn't open at the correct pressure, or at all.

The actuator may be an issue here also.

Finally, the MAP sensor may be the cause.

The most likely are the first 2, the N75 and the hoses.

Thanks Very much. That last post was very helpful.

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the North West (apart from Audi themselves) that could run through this and get it sorted so I can sell it in the condition I would expect to buy it in.
I would rather go somewhere off a first hand recomend than just googling "audi"

Thanks again!

Thats what the 'Thanks' button is for.... lol.

OK.

The car has been in at Awesome-GTi Manchester and they have diagnosed the problem.

The Turbo has seized but they seem to think its in a position to be reconditioned. Also the engine lump is an AUM.

I need to sell this car in its current condition as cash is tight and I'm moving to London shortly.

I just had it taxed as well...The car drives but there is no turbo power as of this moment.

for anyone interested then take a look at the pics below and call me 07929 860 269 to talk about it...

Looks lovely mate, just like my bro's old one.

You said it's an AUM lump? Weird - must of had an engine swap in it's life.

What sort of money are you looking for? PM me if you want to chat.

Ahhhhhh, sorry bud!

Yeah, that they are! Nothing that a bit of Autoglym leather cleaner won't sort though.
