fitting footwell lights...

im unsure as to how to wire them. shall i wire them to my ambient lighing, or shall i just wire them so they come on when i open the doors?

they are red leds mate. (to match the rest of the dash)

Yes! Not sure I would go for them being on while the car is running along, but on opening the doors is quite a good idea

thanks jd, i really dont know what to do... i have nearly finished my cuppa so will be heading out to the car soon... doors, ambient, doors ambient, meh!! I take 50 50 please chris, "that leaves you, Doors or ambient"!! o oh... im talking to my self again..........

Wire it up to the side lights, think it would like nice, aslong as its just a red glow and not neon bright.

Wire them up with the sidelights and the doors, and on main beam, make them flash like a disco.

Wire them up to your hazards or indicators for a laugh.

How many LEDs will there be - how bright will it be?
If not too bright then i'd say wire them to the ambient...

Edit: Will you be able to dim them with the dimmer thingy?

I thought they all had them, shows what i know, even my old 98 A4 had them and they came on with the doors.

My choice is to come on with the doors, but knowing you i can see them being wired to the dash lights to be on all the time but dimable

well that didnt go quite to plan, was going to use a long strip of LEDS to light my footwells. the long strips would not fit anywhere so i went to maplins to buy some single ones and ended up doing this..
