I've just been to see a 1999 Audi S3 with a recent forged rebuilt engine

When test driving it, giving it the beans I dipped the clutch to coast and the engine cut out. Just wondering if something is wrong or is it my driving as I have no experience of driving a high powered turbo'd car only VTEC

Nope, it shouldn't cut out when dipping the clutch.
