Hi,

New to the forum and looking to buy an S3. Found one to my spec at the right price so asked the seller a few questions. When I asked if it was originally bought from a UK Audi Dealer? I was told the following

"The car was imported from Germany and sold here new but is full UK spec, and
is registered on Audi UKs system "

What does this exactly mean? Is this a bad thing and will I have trouble getting insurance etc on it as it is an import?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Cheers

Depends..

If the car was first registered in the UK then you won't have any problems.. If it wasn't then you then you may get charged a bit more.

I "suspect" that cars imported in Germany aren't susceptable to the same insurance premium as imports from say Japan.

I had an MX-3 which was first registered in the UK then immediatly taken to Germany and then brought back after a couple of years.. The V5 had import on it, so I was a little suspicious, but the history checked out and all my insurance cared about was the car was registered in this country before being take abroad.
