vag-com and warranty

the 1.8ts is due for its first avs and i have booked it in for friday.
today i thought i would give it a scan with the vag-com for fault codes (you know why)
what crossed my mind was, is this acceptable or would it affect the audi warranty if i was to mention my findings to the dealer.

btw 4 fault codes where shown and i hope they are picked up in the service.

I tell my dealer when ever I find something. They're cool about it although the first couple of times they did want to know how I knew.

i have a reacurring fault with the dv that will come back after what seems like a massive backfire at the front of the exhaust, its as if the car has been hit underneath with a rock, its loud and i can feel it through the floor/pedals.

it seems strange to me that something on the induction side causes a reaction in the exhaust.
