    17" Or 18" ........

Ok so im still looking at alloys lol, its just i cant make my mind up between 17 or 18" alloys.
    What do you guys think?
The thing is i want looks but also want performance, by that i mean i dont want some great 25kg plus wheel on each corner just because they look good but i dont want them to look to poo either.

I see it as 17" lightweight alloy for performance or 18" alloy for the look aspect etc.

Thoughts, just cant decide wether to go for lightweight or looks lol.

Im stuck in this same decision too, recently due to the snow and grit, there have been so many potholes cropping up, in my area at least. Im thinking 17 may be the more comfortable approach, due to a fatter profile.

but then again 18's fit the car so much better.

17 or 18 inch?! 18 or 19 inch Dani, 19 for looks 18 for handling. Go BBS rims in 18" for looks and handling, and throw the 17s away.

I'd go for 18's, the weight you'll be saving isn't going to be massive, especially when you have 1 extra passenger in your car. The 18's will look alot better and the ride is pretty much the same as 17's

Would 18's on an A3 without it being lowered make it look like a tractor? Want some alloys but can't lower it due to insurance.

Personally think the 18s look much better than 17s and the difference will be minimal in terms of performance and road feel.

Well ive made my mind up, im getting some fox alloys, fx004 to be precise.

The question is now, what tyre size to get, the alloys are 18x8, so do i get 215/35/18 or 225/40/18?

id go 225/40/18... lower the profile the more chance you have of damaging a rim with potholes etc...

225/40's is the correct tyre for 18" rims on an S3.
