1 Day and troubles! please help!!!!!!

one day of ownership! tonight it started missing and idleing irratic, engine light started to flash then stayed on, then flashing, had to be careful driving home! any ideas? cars done 68k

Hi Lee, welcome to A-S.N, sorry to hear about your woes, most liikely causes are Coil Packs, and MAF, if you have a copy of VAG-COM you can scan for codes which may help trace the fault.

Sorry fellas its a 1.8 20v turbo! just had it on diag machine and it was a coil pack, the guy's a VW/Audi specialist thats mobile! he had a second hand coil pack!
He recons the other 3 may follow shortly??? having all new coil packs fitted with new thermostat and a service so should be a happy bunny again after weekend!
