My Oettinger remapped S3 makes a squealing noise under hard acceleration in higher gears. It occurs at around 4k rpm and lasts for 2 or 3 seconds. I have the latest bosch DV.

Road and sport developments www.rsdcars-uk.co.uk/ say the noise is normal and is caused by the DV.

Can anyone confirm this? (I'm pretty sure its not the clutch!)

You would be best running a diagnostic check and getting a competant specialist to take a look if it is worrying.

The wife never squeals or moans! Thats why I drive an S3

Anyone know a competant specialist in the Stratford-upon-Avon, or Livinston area?

Seriously, arms length diagnoses are almost impossible to make on a forum.

It could be the turbo (mine makes different noises at different rpm)

It won't be the DV unless it is broken (as it should be closed completely under acceleration)

AmD are not far away from stratford.

Shame about the wife BTW /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just sounds like the turbo under load. Happens when they are pushed to run non-standard boost.

My Mrs squeals in the car, but my feet are usually no where near the pedals at the time! Well some times actually. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

An Oettinger map is a GRAND! Sounds like an expensive suit to me. APR: £449+VAT. That'll do me thank you.

I agree, other tuners might be cheaper, but I'm personally sold on Oettinger and the 1k is worth it, in my opinion.

What I want to know is what is actually feels like having 370Nm of Torque under your right foot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My car was supplied with the Oettinger remap from new and was performed by RoadAndSport, and paid for by Listers Audi.

The paperwork I have says 275bhp conversion, which Oettinger have never listed on their site. The conversion comes complete with a warranty against defects caused by the conversion.

When tuners RR their cars for testing, they enter a loss factor to account for the transmission etc, which accounts for the different results found on different RR's. Ask the tuners to send you a graph measured at the wheel instead.

Anyway, I am totally happy with the car.
