Rear Diff n Haldex

Just a quick question.

Does anyone know when fitting a new haldex, do you have to connect it to vag-com at all or will it work straight away?

Also I have lost a bit of diff oil out of what it looks like an over flow pipe and wanted to know where the plug is to check the level if there is one and how much oil there should be in the diff?

Found the check plug, not sure why i asked really as its pretty obvious n it takes 1.1L apparently.

Just need to know whether you need to connect a vag-com up to the haldex or should it work straight away?
