Why ECS mate? There are cheaper kits available... even Bill's Brembo kit is only around Ł1000 and the discs/pads are cheaper to replace

Gav, the 6 pot bling is gonna stop crap, despite the huge disks! The S3 master cylinder wasn't designed for 6 pots, but If you want looks!

not to mention the added unsprung weight that will screw up the handling!

i dont drive hard i dont race around bends, ive dne less than 7k in miles in the last 2 years and aslong as it stops that will be enough i just love the look of big brakes and with 19s they won't look to small

They do look the business, but that is the price I think you're gonna pay for them. Looked around at brakes myself for a while and didn't see the 6 pots any cheaper than that really. Remember seeing an article in a magazine once which was testing them on a mk4 golf and the brakes were too powerful for the grip the tires could give, meaning the abs was on overtime trying to stop the wheels from locking up. The result was only a fraction quicker stopping time. However, as already said, they do look really good. I opted for the TVR AP Racing calipers on Ebay in the end, with some 2 piece 330mm discs from Bill.

Just the bigger disks and spaced out caliper carrier, uses the standard calipers.

i got ecs stage 5 fronts and ecs stage 1 rears, want my advice?
look elsewhere, purely for the reason that sourcing replacement discs etc is a right pain in the ass, and expensive!
only 2 uk suppliers, awesomegti and venom motorsport, awesome gti dont like dealing with them as they always sending wrong parts etc so i tried getting in touch with ecs direct, they were as much use as chocolate ashtray, am yet to get in touch with venom motorsport
i am toying with the idea of swapping mine out depending on the cost of discs

totally disagree on that mate, i got the above setup on standard master cylinder and it stops like nothing else, very little pedal travel, has come in handy more than once, the brakes would be wasted on anything thats below 300bhp imo (which mine is roughly) as its not terribly often i use their full force, smaller brakes would suffice, but im planning building on my power so the bigger anchors will become more necessary

have you got any pics of them fitted front and rear please?
as said above replacing discs is last of my worries i had the last set of disks for over 3yrs and they were changed about 10k before i bought the car and the car will be used alot less now as i have a company van and my girlfriends car to use,

I was exaggerating when I said they will stop crap lol. I don't doubt they will stop the car, and very quickly at that. But seriously, the S3 brakes out the box aren't exactly the sharpest, so using 6 pots will make it even worse, but I'm sure you have got use to your setup to make the most of it. Plus those Cayenne Calipers weigh quite a bit when I picked them up, so the extra unsprung mass will effect the handling!! It's more a bling mod than track mod in my opinion, ECS Stage 2v2 is more than enough for an S3, and the stage 1 rears is overkill also, but I got them cheap, so why not?

i appreciate what guys are saying and your right about what these brakes will affect and that a smaller setup will be better bu handling and stopping so fast that my eyes pop out isnt what im after silly i know because its not a cheap mod but i don't mind spending the money on something that in imo will look the dog's dangleys lol.
im not bothered about how fast i can go and no way am i doing track days in a car i payed that much money for.

    thanx

I've got stage 2 v2's and the only thing I would say go for grooved discs and stay well clear of the drilled ones. Even if you don't use them that much, there's a good chance they will crack and as everyone else said, they're a right pain in the arse to get new ones.

They also look gash as well when they're cracked!
Currently running a MTM stage 1 map, ECS brakes, Forge DV, Bager 5 TIP, 18" RS4s, Bilsteins, H&R springs, Tie bars, Milltek catback... but not for long...
