A3 1.8T turbo Removal

Is it possible to remove the turbo up through the bonnet, or do I need to get underneath the car to do this?

any advice would be great.

did mine fron top, just remove exhaust manifold, undo the 4 bolts on the flange, oil and water pipes and the supporting bracket bolt lift out from the top, thats the way i did mine, took me bout 3 hours os so in total to take 1 out and put new one on

Figured it could be got out via the top but just wanted confirmation before I do it.
