ELECTRIC WINDOW JAMMING WHILST GOING UP!

hi
i have a 98 a3T and my drivers window has developed a problem whilst going up! it doesnt move it gets stuck but goes down fine!

anyone got any info how to fix or anything would be very greatful

The clips on the window regulator have broken. Causing the window to shift as you lift it and kicking in the anti-squeeze.

Common as muck problem, search and you will find many threads!

no as they arent gripping, had same problem with mine. if the window comes up a little then goes back down again then its almost definatly the clips

Here is a pictorial guide of how to fix. No need to buy parts of eBay - your dealer will be cheaper and they stock the 'upgraded' metal and plastic parts referenced. The resellers on eBay are just ripping people off (like the 'Show your true speed on your aircon' for 99p (codes are free on the net) or even worse, the 'Seat Cupra front splitter for only £45' (that's a £22 part from a Seat dealer)) just because it's on eBay doesn't make it cheap.
