Need some advice with service parts please.oil plugs, wishbones bushes

Hi, my s3 is on a long life service, i get a audi specialist to do this however, i want to change the oil more regular. than the longlife stuff.

The oil that it has currently is castrol SLX 5-30 longlife.

What oil would you all change too? as i want to change every 5 k or so, i went in halfords, they had castrol 5-30 but not the slx stuff? is it the same?

And also audi dont sell the slx in 5 litre bottles only 1l so im not sure what to use?

the car has 87 k miles and has a revo remap if that makes a difference/

So im after a good oil i can get for it, and what plugs would you use? mine were done last about 8-9k i think so want to change them?

And im also want to get some front wish bone bushes, where is the best place for these?

And would any1 else change any other bits? bearing in mind i had a full service including everything possible about 8-9 k ago.

Try GSF or Euro car parts for bit like oil filter and oil ( think oil is £20 ish for 4 litres so you need either a 1 ltr top up bottle or another 4ltr.
Plugs shouldn`t need doing yet should go to at least 20k if now 40k

gsf sell Mann filter, theyre better than the bosch ones ECP sell, so get the filter from gsf. Mann is ideal for all your filters

gsf also sell fuchs engine oil, 5w40, about £20 for 4L as has been said.

plugs. just get the standard NGK ones.

as for bushes, either get OE, Lemforder, TRW (they make the OE ones from what i can remmeber) and youre done.

anything else? at that age, id be doing pas fluid, gearbox oil, brake fluid (if necessary)... it all depends on what needs to be done on your car

I've just fitted some myself, easy enough. Bottom arm comes off no problem. Hammer old bush out. Stick new bushes in the freezer and heat up the bottom arm around the hole, tap in and refit. Job done.

if you fit a certain core type plug dont they have to be changed along with the oil, iridium core i think?

personally im a non believer in this long life service stuff, the cost of changing oil, filter and plugs (£50-60) every 6 months seems a small price to pay for the piece of mind it gives, but thats just me, a fussy ****** lol

Ok thanks for the replys, so that 5/40 is a good decent oil to use, will be ok? as my stuff i use is 5/30 sorry for the questions i know nothing about oils etc

As for gearbox oil, i think ive asked this before what should i go for and how much of it? is there anywhere online to buy it from and do i need any special tools for it,? like my haldex which a specialist done about 9 k at last service. thanks again Oski.

can i just ask how much you paid for your haldex to be serviced?

gearbox oil, i would get gen audi oil, unsure of amount for s3, but i done my mates type r's g/box oil a few weeks back and that took 1.5 - 1.8l
check your owners manual, should tell you what fluids to use and how much of them to put in
