General underside condition on the S3?

Hi, having only viewed one S3 so far, which wasn't very good, what condition should I expect the underpinnings to be in on future cars I see, considering the car is 7+ years old? For example, is it normal for wishbones, hubs etc to be rusty, and something to expect on this age car, or do the underside of these cars age well? I don't want to disregard an otherwise good car for something like this, if it's normal for this to happen on the S3. Any help is appreciated.
