Had a few problems recently with my audi a3 2002 tdi 1.9. Started from ESP light coming on and eventually abs light coming on resulting in loss of power, turning engine off would result in not being able to turn back on... after being to the garage.. a new battery.. alternator fine. Ive finally got home and had brother in law looking at it... there is a cable which goes from the alternater to the battery (power cable, HT cable?) unsure on what the cable is called. Turns out one of the the wires which splits off before hitting the battery was completely worn off and looked to have some damp on it... a bodge job for a new wire has been done the car now starts but i need to replace this part, does anyone have a clue?
