Turbo problems

hi, my car makin a noise sounds like a sirens in the distance! garage saying it the turbo, took it out no visable damaged but needs cracked to see inside. The car driving ok. 2005 audi a3 2.0 tdi sport

a friend had the same problem on a mk 4 astra tdi and was the wastegate that was makeing the noise, think it wasnt shutting properly
