Are the A3 easy to tune up?

hi everyone i'm new to the site. i'm thinking of getting rid of my corsa vxr and purchasing a well speced 54 plate tdi but it' s the 140. i really want the 170 but at the price i've found its a good deal.i want to have the same sort of power as the vxr(190bhp). any way is it easy to tune the engine i.e remap or somthing to get decent power, without spending a fortune?

You should be able to get near that with just a remap, then with downpipes fmic and a few other mods get up aa bit higher maybe. remap being around £400 less or more.
