1. Prise the gaiter off with a flat head screw driver
2. Pull the gaiter and trim upwards to reveal a clip
3. Cut the clip off and pull the gearknob off
4. When you replace it just use a jubilee clip of the right size in place of the clip you cut off.
thats it yeah, hack saw to cut it down.
shift is far shorter now feels same as my friends car who has fitted the proper short shift kit.
but i saved myself £60ish, i dunno how much they are lol
I had the gearstick chopped down in my MG - works really well!
Plus the 'stick was relocated within easier reach.
Gearchanges are a joy in the Midget now.
