Specialist South West

Can anyone recommend a garage in or around the Bristol area that can do the mundane stuff (service, mot, belts, etc) and/or offer performance options (i.e. clutch, haldex controller, turbo).

Also any where nearby recommended for wheel refurbs and general paint scratch and dent repair.

but... Volkscraft in Exeter, or RK engineering in St.Agnes are both good.

According to the Official Guide to South West UK this includes Swindon and Gloucestser so Bristols well in there -> http://www.westcountrynow.com/main/destinations/home.cfm.

Volkscrafts fairly close, might give them a try. Has anyone had any experience with them?

my uncle owns tyres direct uk, his avonmouth depot has the fault finder software and a german specialist mechanic! any problems see them, hes done both belts, service/mot on mine and all is fine! may even be able to get discount for you!

Pah.. still dont believe its the southwest, you dont make pastys up there.

Also, the same trading estate as volkscraft, theres "southwest wheel repairs" damn good at wheel refurb. quoted £230 to do all of mine.

I'm going to give streetwise a try first as its in Bristol and I currently have no MOT, plus 3 slow punctures (although one might be deemed fast) and semi-built doors where I am halfway through fixing the electric windows.

I would say SouthWest is everything down and west of Bristol...

Tsr performance in bridgewater are good.they seem to know a lot about the 1.8t engine amongst everything vag.they do the lot from diagnostics to remaps etc.
sorry to pinch the thread but it is on topic, does volkscraft have a 4 wheel drive rr. Im going to get a remap soon and exeter is closer to me than bridgewater but i do want to get it on the rollers afterwards.
i also might check that place out for a wheel refurb. Im still stuck on colour options at the moment. Standard or graphite....?

Matt does not have one, but he may have access to one, you would have to ask him. TSR's RR is brill though.
