Hey guys!

It's one thing after the other with my S3! Having some knocking issues occaisonly when I go over pot holes, humps etc. It's not to bad at the moment, but it's there which is annoying.

So I got a mate whose also a VW techy to check my car over and he spotted that my front bushes were worn and showed me. (They were orange with rust!) So I got him to change them. Whilst he was doing it he spotted on the front ARB where the bushes sit I have 2 developing cracks both on side off my ARB on the plastic sleeve which apparently is quite common, dam it! Anyway he still replaced the bushes and it has softened the knocking somewhat, but not totally - which he expected after seeing the ARB.

So could those ARB cracks really be flexing the bar that much to cause the knocking issue? It must be by the looks of it, crazy!

So front ARB fitting.... Does the sub frame need to be dropped to gain access to it to change it??? Any idea how long/difficult a job is it? My mate said it's most likely to be a sub frame drop job but didn't have a ramp to check... Prices to fit one? Ouch this is going to be expensive I bet!

I have standard suspension so I'd want to go OEM with the ARB unless anyones got any better alternatives which will work with my standard setup?

Many thanks.

go for R32 one takes 1hr tops and yes sub frame has to be lowered. Then replace rear in 30 mins and your sorted

oh and the S3 and R32 use the same bushes just no sleves on the R32 :)

An hour to drop the sub frame??? Seriously??? Thought it was a longer job than that even for an experienced mechanic.

Nopethe SF isnt that hard to lower, you leave it connected to the lower arms and the steering rack stays connetced but removed from the SF so its suspended from the arms and that

Awesome thanks, can this be done without a ramp? Rought cost from a audi specialist for this if anyones had it done?

I had a quote a few months ago from an audi specialist to supply and fit a standard front anti roll bar for £240.
