Hi, im kevan and im new to this forum. Im only 16 so don't drive yet but my mum has a black 51 reg a3 1.8 turbo sport and i was wondering when she should consider having the timing belt and water pump replaced. The car has done just over 69 000 miles from new. Sorry if there is already another thread the same but i couldnt find it. lol. Thanks to every one who replies.

5 years is audi spec and then on mileage the service book says 115k but i would recommend 60 as ive never see a 1.8t make it past 80 without bent valves

yoyo kevan,

starting young thats what i like to see!!!..as above mate, i got mine done when i bought mine on 73k but 60,000 is whats recommended..

tell muma to get it sorted!

i prefer to be safe & had my 1st one done at 44k (5 years) thinking of doing it again next year probably 70k (8 years), its good to have piece of mind especially when your lump has 20 valves !
