I have a A3 1.8T Quattro 2000 recently I have noticed whenever i give it some throttle it tends to jerk a little? For example if i am driving at 60 mph (on the motorway) and i put my foot down it seems to think a little then jerks slightly before actually increasing the speed.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Not sure about a jerk as such, but most turbo engines hesitate before pulling away, it's called turbo lag.

Turbo lag is the time it takes the turbo to spool up after you press the accelerator. The amount of the delay depends on many factors and will vary from car to car.

My 1.8T 150BHP Golf had a much longer lag than my S3.

Sounds like you may be getting some turbo lag. I had the same problem on mine. To cure the problem try replacing the dump valve. This should cure the lag.

yeah i agree happened to me, well easy and cheap to replace.
