Clocks LCD Screen WOE

followed the guide on here to do the dead pixel repair, as had quite a few lines out, tried 4 times the other week, screen has completely gone, just tried 4 times tonight, no joy, so stressed and fed up, wish i never tried, now its looking like a new set of clocks is needed, how can i go from having a few lines out to having the full thing out with a orange bar at the top ***

Might sound stupid, but have you tried tapping the reset button under the wiper stalk? it switches the screen on and off if you just tap it.
