Hi all.
I hope i'm not going to upset and Mods here if i post this thread, so here's hoping!
I've been in touch with an American company recently who make, import & sell wheels, for the german market, i.e Audi, VW, Porsche, Mercedes Benz etc.
I've been looking for some S8 wheels (pictured below) for quite some time, as i wish to keep my car OEM (not a fan of after market wheels, unless they are BBS LM), a personal preference!
As we all know the S8 is a rare car to begin with so trying to find these wheels has proven a big problem for me especially in the second hand market. I've tried Fleabay, breakers and a specialist who deals just with A8 used parts, who were very helpful but i was on a rather large waiting list for the wheels, chances of getting a set are slim to none.
This prompted me to do some research on the tinterweb, this is where i found Hartmann Wheels.
I've made connections with the company and have come up with some results:
Hartmann HS8 114 D2 (Wheels pictured above) come in the following size
18x8.0 - 5 X 112 - ET48
They are a direct replica of the 18" S8 wheel and are very very good quality, comparible according to Hartmann with the real thing.
Now for pricing. Regardless of quantity ordered i've managed to get us a price of $780 per set (no shipping) which equates to £487.84, which i'm sure you'll agree with me is very very good.
They come with flat centres with no Audi inscription but (yet to try this, i will be using my existing centres if they fit to keep it OEM as i can, or S8 ones can be purchased at an extra cost).
Shipping costs are where it starts hurting the bank balance, with FED-EX delivered to the UK and then your address, it will cost £540.30. Which is the not so good part. They will take 8-10 working days to ship to the UK.
Now this pricing is on a singluar set purchase, which i'll be doing very soon regardless of the outcome in this thread.
You will need a set of adapters, i'm currently working on getting some custom made adapters, which i can also make available (you'll deal directly with him - UK based company) and he'll also do a group buy for us. These are far cheaper than some adapters i've seen, please watch this space for more info on them.
What i'm proposing is if any of you here wish to purchase any wheel from Hartmann they are willing to use me as a main point of contact and will ship larger orders to us here at the UK. Group Buy????
My contact said the cost would be considerably cheaper for an order of say 4/5 sets of wheels.
Therefore, all i'm asking is if you can show your interest in this and please PM me if you are serious, lets keep this thread neat & tidy and please the moderators!
I've given prices, given pictures, given delivery times so all the information is there for this specific wheel. If you wish to have prices on other styles of wheels then please let me know, again via PM and i can enquire with my contact as to how much they are going to be.
The web-site address should you want it is http://hartmannwheels.com/audi-wheels
I really like the look of the EuroMesh 4 (pictured below) too but as present this is NOT available in the correct size according to Hartmann. Who i might add are not familiar with the S3 at all. They do not have an S3 in the States according to him. If there are any users here who can shed some light on ET's then i would really appreciate some input/help, it might make most wheels available to us given the use of adapters.
I think you'll agree with me when i say i think they are offering a very good deal and the wheels on that site are spankingly gorgeous!
Another set which i think is nice is :
Similar to the RS4 wheel we all know without the centre section clip in component.
Mods i apologise in advance if i upset anyone or have inadvertantly done something wrong, all i want to acheive here is to enable other Audi fans to have an opportunity to purchase wheels which aren't available here in the UK. Hartmann wheels do not have an importer into the UK or Europe yet, which is why we have to deal direct.
Lets try and get as many "FIRM" buyers as possible here, we can get shipping down to an absolute minimum then!
Thanks guys!
