Fitting a dv need bit off help

Finaly managed to get my dv fitted after a life time trying to remove them dam clips off pipes.Anyway just wondering which of the two little plastic things to screw into the top dont no what they are called. the 3mm or 5mm what differance do they make was thinking of sticking to 3mm only because the bosch one is that size.Thnks for any help i'm on with now and just burnt me hand cause couldnt be ar$ed waiting for the car to cool down stings a bit now but must soldier on. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burningmad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

I take it you're talking about the nipple on top of the DV for the vacuum pipe...no? If so then stick with the same size as the Bosch one had...i.e. 3mm.

Yep thats the one,cheers gammba.While im on what the hell is that small black box above 3-4 coils plus theres a small spilt in pipe just as it goes into it?

have you fitted a recirculating dump valve or an atmospheric dump valve?

mines a recirc. AmD Viper.

Mines a atmosphereic (1 vac hole, one bogger hole.)
one at the top, one at th bottom.

On my a3 1.8T
Do i have to fit it horozontally?
