    Check out VAGCAT.COM

    I think it is part 13: (13A) 06A103221AC

    breather hose
    / AMK,BAM

As I had to replace this on my 2002 S3 when the hose split. You can turn the tube around to see the part number or take it off and have a look only takes a couple of mins to do and is very straightforward to replace.

I'm pretty sure it is, the 'hose' above with the Oil Catcher is not connected and that goes off to the TIP - I had to change that one as well as it had a split too!

na the one highlighted is the one to the TIP from the rocker cover...but it twists upwards so as to reduce oil being transferred to the TIP.... you r diagram doesnt show a similar pipe?

nope cos the offending pipe goes from the rocker cover to the one way valve that fits onto the TIP....

No pretty sure it is the correct one, I had to replace the offending pipe. The part that fits to the TIP is a seperate hose see thread S3 BAM - ESP/Oil Breather Pipes to confirm

Out of interest, does this tear in the pipe cause poor running?

possibly because its part of the vacuum system.........

Jest yeah your right , i changed my last post cos the bendy pipe goes to the non return valve and also directs down to the bottom end to recirculate the oil back into the engine...still dont think its on the chart you've posted though....the rocker cover doesnt match for a start

    It'll produce the 17705 code on VAG-COM

The part is the 13a part for sure - it doesn't show the rest of the connecting parts though hence the confusion. Took me a while to figure out so just pulled the offending hose off and looked at the part number - a much simpler way!

that was actually the wrong part number for my engine Jester. The part number i needed was 06A 103 221 N. thats what it said on the pipe. audi got me the part with the number you gave me but it looked just as in the diagram, must be a different engine or something. I got the new part and fitted it now so all sorted anyway. Cheers though.
