Cold rattle

Hi,

Hoping someone could diagnose a rattle that only occurs at cold start. Once warm cant hear it anymore.

Its like a low grind / rattle at startup, can be heard very faintly when changing gear. Only occurs at certain RPM. So has got me thinking it could be a heatshield.

I stuck my head by the front of the car and it seems its coming from a point closer to the front than the cat.

Please help. Thanks

i think it might be the thing that warms the cat up... mine does it.. and its almost like after 1 min, it stops. then again it could be something else.

You may be onto something there, I just took it out and now that the outside temperature is quite a bit warmer it made no sound whatsoever. So whatever it is its got something to do with expansion/contraction.

This is the exact noise I have, about 1/5th of the way through the vid, that low grinding sound! Please help!
