S3 Wheel Fitments

Can anyone advise me if a set of wheels with an offset of 45 would fit my S3 either with or without spacers. Im unsure of how the offset works.
i know the stud pattern is correct (5x100).

You should aim for offset of 35-25 for a good fitment, the higher the offset, the inwards the rim goes, and it will get close to your suspension and brakes. ET35 is the average fitment for aftermarket wheels, but you can add 10mm spacers to get ET25 which fills the arches up nicely on an S3.
