Solid or Dual Mass flywheel?

whats the difference between the both?
why is the solid one cheaper and people say its better?

any help would be awsome

Dual mass is essentially sprung so that gear changes are smoother when you release the clutch. if you can drive properly your left foot can achieve the same thing, and lose the extra inertia generated by the dual mass.

I believe the weight difference is 6.3kg single mass / 9.9kg dual mass.

If you are changing it anyway, when go for single mass as its cheaper.

Is it a lot more noticeable having the solid one? I really dint wanna risk all the fitting charges to find it's poop !

You get a rattling noise from the gearbox on idle IIRC

Try and get a drive of a VR6 mk3 Golf, as that is the hardware you are fitting essentially.

4cyl flywheel, VR one WILL NOT bolt to the 4cyl crank and a VR6 Clutch, which will handle some extra power.

I had one in my A3 and it's not as bad a people make out. IMO
