Following from my first thread..........

My car has been in ABP to see wny my car has no power (turbo) and they have spent two hours on the car and can't find nothing at all.

The have done a visual check on pipes, intercoolers ect, road test, a simple diagnost check with nothing coming up, and have checked the boost pressure which is very low at 5 bar???

They have siad the turbo seems fine asthey can hear it spinnig. I'm going to have to take it to audi and see what comes up!

The only thing i have done to the car is brake hard causing the ABS to come on in the wet, which put the ESP light on then 5 mins later i have lost all boost!

Can anybody think of a fault for this before it goes to the stealers.....??

Kev.

With no codes coming up it's hard to see why a hard brake would cause a boost problem. Unless maybe you starved the turbo of oil pressure and killed it in that 5 mins? Thats all that comes to my mind.

The diagnostic the garage did, said nothing at all? As it should have at least said the ESP Light was or had been on.

They found no fault codes??? find that hard to believe based on what you have said in the previous 2 threads about this problem... Looking at the website they do appear to only specialise is Jap and French cars though which may explain why they couldn't find anything... Get it to a VAG specialist...

So you have had the headlights out and the front bumper off to check the integrity of the hoses connected to the SMICs and tweaked the hose clips to be sure? That is the only way to see all the hose connections on an S3 charge system I know of...

5 bar is 72psi, thats impressive!!!

0.5 bar is actuator pressure which is what you will get in limp mode. This is just over 7psi.

I you don't have access to VAGCOM or a decent VAG independent, get it to Audi and get it sorted... nothing anyone here can help you with if you have followed the advice given to you in your previous 2 threads about this same problem

id try disconecting the battery for 5mins it will reset the ecu i had boost issues recently fix it for me worth a shout before going to the steelers, id recomend using a specialist rather then audi to as they have much better understanding of performance cars

It's booked into audi now on tuesday for an 1:30 mins.

Yeah sorry the pressure is 5psi instead of 15psi so they said. I don't think they took the bumper or lights off??

Hoping audi can sort it in the time they have it for. Really getting me down now as i haven't driven it properly yet since owning it!

I might have a go at taking the bumper off to see if i can see any splits in the intercooler pipes.

If you are down to actuator pressure I doubt its a leak. Worth checking all the same though.

Boost leak would feel more like performance tailing off I would have thought... Sounds like hard limp from what you are describing which is more likely a sensor issue...

Boost leak would prob trigger a soft limp which means loss of power intermittently rather than what you are saying is happening.

Good luck on Tuesday, don't let them commence the work until you have checked back here though... they will prob charge you a fortune to change something that would take you 5 mins with a screwdriver :)
