    Help On My S3

    Hey all

For a few months now my S3 has had this problem.
It does it badly when its cold. But when im driving away and put it into 3rd gear it very badly like pulls and holds back, it just doesnt want to go, it does after ive held my foot down on the gas for a few seconds but im not sure what this is and it is slightly worrying me.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    thanks

    Tanya

Sounds like the car can not get onto boost.............have you tried changing the OE Bosch DV for a new one or upgraded one?

Maybe worth finding someone with a laptop and vag com to see if you have any fault codes in your ECU. That would be my first step.
Does it make any gushing noises as you excelerate ?

tanya, take the DV off, push up the spring in the middle and cover all the wholes, see if it holds the pressure (if that makes sense) to see if the DV is faulty.

Does it misfire or judder on the motorway if you attempt to accelerate?
Could be the bane of all a3/s3`s ,the maff meter.

    Re: Help On My S3

Mine has a sort of flutter when accelerating & this was looked at by Plymouth Audi when they did my service.

Diagonsed a new MAF is required, which I am trying to get booked into Maidstone Audi to fit! This could be an early sign of the same problem!??
I will let you know what happens when they replace it under warranty!

    Re: Help On My S3

.........the flutter noise is normally a failed or failing Bosch DV

    Re: Help On My S3

Tanya I would suggest the first course of action is to disconnect the MAF and then take the car for a drive. You'll notice a massive loss in performance but if the car appears to run smoothly then you may have found the fault, but that's not a certainty.

It could be the N75 or wastgate that could be causing the problem as well, but these are hard to diagnose.

Tanya, if you're in Surrey and nearby, try calling A H Automobiles in Guildford - it's a small VW/Audi specialist and he might have some ideas. He's likely to say "bring it in and we'll have a look" but they're good guys and will tell you straight if they have any ideas.

A.H. Autos, Unit 11, Foundation Units, Westfield Road, Slyfield Green, Guildford, tel: 01483 303942. (VW/Audi specialists.)

    Re: Help On My S3

you said you changed the recirc valve, did you do straight swop for another recirc valve or did you fit a dump valve in its place, Sounds like your AIR MASS METER IS FAULTY
