Rear Shocks

Currently looking into replacing the rear shocks to complement my lowering springs as i believe the offside rear is ****** and wanted peoples reccommendations on a budget.

Also if anyone has any shocks (dampers) for sale let me know

They work well and last, you can fit others but you will always be lacking lol

Just had these fitted mate, and rate them highly, but to be fair I dont know how they compare to cheaper alternatives.

On an S3, yes. Took me ~20mins per side.

Fronts are more of a pain, as they are struts, so have to be removed.

Only 20 mins each?!?! That sounds quick and easy, whats actually involved?

If I recall correctly,

1. Jack up the car, put on stands and remove the rear wheels.
2. Put trolley jack under hub to support once shock is disconnected.
3. Undo top and bottom bolts of shock mount.
4. Remove old shock, and install new one, making sure the bolts don't cross thread as I nearly did!!
5. Torque up bolts. Sorry can't remember the settings of the top of my head.
6. Refit wheels and get the tracking checked ASAP!

which is where I got most of my info from. The fronts are pretty much as he says. The S3 has a slightly different rear suspension layout, due to the Quattro system.

Right, i do indeed need new rear shocks now after confirming the offside rear is badly designed and rod pushes past top mount.

So which dampers, need to order today???

Oh yeah forgot about Damian.
Anyway originall ordered a set of Koni Sport rear dampers which are top adjustable which is great but spoke to Venom and they are out of stock so got some Spax ones instead which are bottom adjustable which is even better.

Should arrive tomorrow
