noticed a little puddle of water on the floor, under the front middle to slightly left hand side of the engine this evening. I'll keep a check on stuff but do you think I should be panicking? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

it's due a top up of windscreen wash (but thats on the right hand side) it could be from the rear windscreen wash bit, as this leaks when I activate the rear washer (still not managed to getting round to fixing that as it's blocked by my strut brace) but not used that today.

Does anyone think it could be the water pump? I also had the aircon on for quite a while today - could that be anything to do with it? I instantly checked my water bottle and it seems fine, I then parked with the engine running for about a minute, moved and it was still dry on the floor underneath.

anything else I should be watching for? temperature rises etc?

thanx for any help chaps.

Would you say it was below the airbox area mate? I have the exact same problem, turns out i have a split pipe running to the rear wash. Start car up, use rear wash for a few seconds, move car back and see if there is a puddle.

PS

Would you be interested in an FMIC and CO2 spray kit for your A3? Might take mine off and replace with the standard stuff as i may be waving bye bye to the audi in near future. Not definate yet, but its a possibility. If it happens, would like to see it go to a good home and would probably only want 400-500 quid for it, total cost was 1k

Hey Stuart,

yeah I also have the split pipe you are talking about (or it's just not connected properly - so I hope) and you are right it only gushes water when using the rear wiper - but I have not used the rear wiper for at least a couple of days, have been meaning to fix this, but my strut brace makes it difficult to get in there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif. so I don't think it's this, unless it was trapped somewhere and just suddenly drained out? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

if it was the water pump, would this only start to leak under a few revs? I'm bamboozled, maybe it's nothing? a bit of time will tell I guess...

i know nothing about the water pump mate, im still trying to work out where 40bhp went from our car. Rolling roaded at 170bhp, still boosts to 17psi, no fault codes, new MAF fitted. I cant be bothered with it any more /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Oh, to add onto the problems, rear bushes are shot too i think, rear wash pipe, exhaust rattles like hell, car sometimes revs to 5k rpm when you start it.

Nah, wont be another audi. i have a few ideas, controversial i know but here we go:

Fiat Uno Turbo
Fiat Uno Turbo
Fiat Uno Turbo
Fiat uno Turbo
Nissan Skyline GTR33
Nissan 300ZX TT
Toyota Supra TT

Might strip it, return it to standard and sell all aftermarket bits. I dont know what to do anymore.

quite simple really, S3 is a little too much money at the moment to get a good example

Did you have your Air Con on mate? If so (or on recently to the puddle) then this will be the puddle, the air con unit gets very cold and drips water especially in the hot weather so don´t worry!

for a start, i would completly forget the fiat uno. don't care how fast it is, it looks not only like a box, but also like sh*t as well. plus its a proper boy racer car, on par with fiestas and escort turbos. cheap and rubbish too, made of cardboard probably. anyway, your last 3 choices r a different story. i would rather have them last 3 cars over a audi A3 anyday (in fact over quite a lot of cars - massive power, all the toys, comfort as well, massive modding potential etc etc). also, 90% of cars on the road aren't even GONNA try and fu*k with u at the lights, especially if u r in the R33 or supra. out of them 3 cars, i would choose the R33, Supra twin turbo, then the ZX in that order. ZX only coming last becuase it does look like a very old car now due to its boxy shape, whereas the other 2 still look new, even tho they r not. from an image point of view, the R33 and Supra look much more sexier and cooler as well. also, not sure but i think the other 2 cars, definatly the supra, are faster then the 300zx as well.

also, i get the impression your quite young, like me. not being rude, but how the f-ing hell r u gonna afford the insurance for one of them, especially the skyline?

Was going to suggest this also .. got caught out once by this ( won't happen again). Stopped at a service station on a very hot day after a long drive, came back out to the car to find a huge pool of water under the car.. Assumed something was wrong so called RAC.. took an hour to turn up and 2 minutes to diagnose the problem has condensation dripping from the air con pipes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wouldn't have said the 300ZX was especially boxy. Pimping and Ricey, but not Boxy.

Definately..Believe it or not the exact same thing happened to my last weekend..I was talking to my mate (both cars side by side) and when i drove off he flashed me back and pointed to a huge puddle from under the car /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I immediately assumed radiator and glanced at the temp gauge, then popped the hood to find what appeared to be 2 leaks dripping quite heavily to the floor...
I then thought get this car home quick, once home i got completely laughed at by the old man which is unfair as its the first car i've owned with AC /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burningmad.gif

So AC was the puddle creator which makes sense really thinking about it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

it can look boxy from certain angles, especially standard ones without that bodykit. i mean don't get me wrong i would love 2 have one still........
