Very new to my A3 so dont know what the norm is for the Climate control.

I have set it at 19 because in the book it states if you set it at 18 it wont adjust automatically just use full fan speed constantly.
I cant seem to get any "cold" air coming out , my last car had CC and would drop the cabin temperature very quickly but this air con seems crap in comparison.

Is there anything I can get checked out ? I got it from an Audi dealer so its under warranty ?

Probably just needs regassing. How old is the vehicle?
A regas is usually needed at about 3-4 years or 80k miles, but depends on usage.
It could be a number of other things which are causing gas to leak, but it is probably just natural leakage through the rubber.

Only 2 Years and 15k ! So it should'nt have gone that quickly ?
Sounds like a trip to the dealers

Yeah, it should be ice cold with that age/mileage. Get them to regas it under warranty, sounds like it may have a leak. They can put UV dye in the gas so that over time they'll be able to see where the leak is.

audi do not est reneval intervals for the gassing but aircon specialists recommend every 2 yrs milage does not really matter, if you get charged over £110 you are getting done!!! an air con service takes about 30 mins ish but they charge one hour.

Mileage is relevant as it will indicate the 1,000's of hours the system has been used.
A regas at a specialist should be about £70, but under warranty get Audi to do it and keep at them as they don't really know much about aircon and this problem could easily slide outside of your warranty and most elements are expensive to replace (heat exchanger, dryer, compressor etc) come to about £1k at a specialist, £2k+ from Audi

If you're not covered by the warranty, use an independent specialist. This site will help you find a local one.

By the way, setting the CC to 19c, espacially at this time of year, means it is going to have to work very hard all the time. I find 21c is a good balance. It's perfectly comfortable over extended periods (I'm not trying to freeze-dry myself like a Marks & Spencer lasagne, LOL!) and doesn't overwork the system.

Like a m&s lasagne!!!! lol!!!

I've realised with mine that is why i've been disapointed and thinking it's not working. You only have to get out of the car for a couple of minutes and then get back in and you realise how cold it is!

Thanks for the replies ,
I put it at 19 just to check it was working but couldnt tell the difference !
Felt more like a Vindaloo in the heat yesterday /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burningmad.gif

Will get it checked in the morning !

On a different note how easy is it to change the aerial on an A3 it seems too big and ruins the line of the car !
