I'm trying to change my gear knob on my Audi S3. But I can't seem to take it off. Anyone installed a gear knob on there car. Any help would be appericated.

Here is a pic of a clip i have found on the bottom of the stick. Its like a jubiliee clip ? do i have to take this off to take the gear knob out. I only want to change the gear knob now the whole stick. I thought you could twist it off off pull up on it and it will pop out.

The clip is crushed into place to hold the gear knob, if you get a small flat bladed screw driver you can force it behind the clip and loosen it.
