a3 sound system

ok so i have wired up the sub in my car but have noticed the back speakers and rear audi sub are conected together on a audio cable which is taking up my suboutput at the moment. into this audio cable there are 3 coloured blocks a blue yellow and green running into an iec block with the output of an audio cable, but as far as i can see the blue and green blocks arent actually being used??

any help would be awsome=)
